Our Mission & Faith Journey

The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is a community of believers dedicated to nurturing a deep understanding of God’s love through personal encounters with Jesus Christ.

Curriculum & Guidance

Our high-quality Religious and Family Life Education programs are built on scripture, tradition, and story. We are guided by:

  • The Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario: Providing curriculum policy and grade-specific expectations.
  • The Institute for Catholic Education: Directing our focus toward the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations.
  • Integrated Faith: We infuse Catholic Social Teaching principles, virtues, and Gospel values into every subject, making faith visible in daily learning.

A Collaborative Partnership

We believe education is a shared journey. By uniting the home, school, and parish, we support students in becoming:

  • Discerning believers and reflective learners.
  • Effective communicators and collaborative contributors.
  • Caring family members and responsible, faith-formed citizens.

Faith Framework (FDK–Grade 12)

Our comprehensive Faith Framework ensures that Catholic themes are interconnected across all grade levels, celebrated through daily prayer, liturgy, and the sacraments.

Religious & Family Life Education

The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board provides faith-based programming developed by the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario (ACBO) and the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB).

Religious Education (FDK–Grade 8)

Our elementary programs invite students to explore the mystery of the Catholic faith through prayer and liturgical participation. As students progress, they build a deeper theological understanding through the Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ curriculum.

Religious Education (Grade 9-12)

Our secondary programs invite students to deepen their relationship with God through integrated Religious Studies courses at every grade level. As students progress toward graduation, they explore complex theological themes and family life topics, with the flexibility to study at the Open or Academic level in Grades 11 and 12.

Family Life Education: Blessed & Beloved and Fully Alive

The family life program represents 20% of the Religious Education curriculum (taught approximately once per week). It provides a Catholic perspective on human life, marriage, family, and relationships. We use the Blessed & Beloved program for Grades 1-3 and the Fully Alive program for Grades 4-8

Goal: To support parents in their role as primary educators and help children become "fully alive" as God intended.

  • HPE Integration: We deliver the Ontario Health and Physical Education (HPE) curriculum through the lens of Catholic Family Life Education, ensuring all learning expectations align with Gospel values.
